
Carmen Castro Rojas
I love to travel whether it is inside the two countries I call ‘home’ or in other countries. Traveling is a beautiful experience that invites one to know oneself better and grown in unexpected ways.

I am tri-lingual and bicultural. I am Costa Rican by birth and a US citizen by choice. I have lived most of my life in United States and I am now retired and living in Costa Rica, where I have a beautiful and centrally located home in the capital city San Jose.

Background
I studied tourism and worked as a tour guide in Costa Rica, so I am very familiar with the ever evolving tourism industry. I have traveled extensively in Costa Rica.
My master degree studies and work in social sciences, focused on women’s issues, keeps me interested and informed about how cultures and countries change over time. And, in particular how women change their own cultures.
My expertise in interpretation and translation allows me to assist non-Spanish and English speakers while receiving medical services abroad.
My participation as a Board member for 10 years and President for two years in a statewide non-profit organization in California, allowed me to gained extensive experience in planning and carry out all the logistics for a 300+ attendees annual conference.
As a woman who has manifested many of my dreams I am committed to assist other women realize theirs and contributing to women’s organizations in Costa Rica.
